Guy’s Hospital and Chapel

King's College, Guy's Campus, London SE1 1UL

Guy’s Hospital was founded in 1721 by Thomas Guy as a hospital for patients considered incurable. It became one of the most important teaching hospitals in Britain.

The statue in front of you now also explains Guy’s links to the transatlantic slave trade, reminding us that even charitable institutions were shaped by the injustices of their time. The chapel on your right provides a quiet space for medical students at King’s College London.
